Google Talk looks very old school these days. It’s been there for a while but I do not know for some reason Google ignores it like it’s step son. I say so because there are not many updates for Google talk, and its not capable of many thing which you can do from within Gmail. Probably, Google thinks that you could do everything & anything from within the browsers.
However, when you feel bored of using pre-defined themes of GTalk and you need some change you might follow the steps below and add colors to your life.
- Download any theme from customizetalk.com and extract it
- Copy this in C:\\Documents and Settings\\[User]\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Google Talk\\themes\\user\\chat\\ (replace user with your gtalk username)
- Once done, open Gtalk and goto Settings
- Goto Appearance tab and choose the theme which you just copied.
And now you will get all new Gtalk with a little different feel. Here is a sample of one which I am using.
