I am sure when you open FireFox you open as many windows. And imagine if you accidentally quite Firefox ? That’s irritating – No ? I know you are smart enough to go to in History menu and Click Restore previous session. But imagine having to fill user username password for certain Web Sites ? And imagine that very moment when you say OMG !
In this post, we are going to discuss how you can Enable a warning before you quit Firefox. I found it very useful cause on my Mac when I have to press ( Command + ~ ) to switch windows, I don’t know how ( Command + q ) gets pressed. So following is the simple hack to save your few seconds and few website sessions.
How to Enable Save and Quit tabs for Firefox
- Open Firefox, if it’s already opened then Open a new tab.
- Write “about:config” , please type if without quotes.
- You will see a warning since you are going to change some advance settings. Please Agree and proceed.
- In the top bar or Filter type “quit” again type without quotes. You will see the following three options.
- Double click on the second option to change it to true , that’s all !
- Next time when you will go to same setting, you will see this option highlighted and status user set instead of default.
Make sure you do not edit any other settings, until and unless you know what you are doing. This is an advance area and contains some advance option which may change FireFox’s behavior drastically. So be careful !
Now when you will quit FireFox using Command + q keys in Mac you will see the following confirmation box –
Hope that helps !
